I am an Assistant Professor at the Department of Informatics of the University of Minho, and a researcher at HASLab. My research interests are in the area of distributed systems.

I hold a PhD degree in Computer Science from Imperial College London.  Some of my main contributions have been in causality tracking mechanisms for dynamic systems and eventually consistent non-relational databases, and fault-tolerant distributed aggregation algorithms. Currently I have been working on CRDTs (Conflict-free Replicated Data Types). Other subjects I have explored are bloom filters and distributed determination of distances in graphs.
