The Information and Communication Technologies Institute is an international "virtual" institution with poles in Portugal and at Carnegie Mellon University. The ICTI Program in Applied Mathematics offers Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in Applied Analysis and in Probability, Stochastic Analysis and their Applications.
![]() Recruitment 11/10/2008 The CMU-Portugal ICTI Program in Applied Mathematics offers Ph.D. and postdoctoral training in Applied Analysis and in Probability, Stochastic Analysis and their Applications. Ph.D. graduates of the program will earn two doctoral degrees, one from Carnegie Mellon University and the other from the Portuguese partners in association, currently the Universidade Tecnica de Lisboa (UTL) through the Instituto Superior Técnico (IST), the Universidade de Lisboa (UL) through the Faculdade de Ciências (FCUL), and the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL) through the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologias (FCTUNL). Trainees in the program are fully funded by the Portuguese Fundação para a Ciência e a Tecnologia (FCT).
The Department of Mathematical Sciences anticipates to make a two-year postdoctoral appointment in probability and stochastic analysis beginning September 2009. Applicants should send a vita, list of publications, a statement describing current and planned research, and arrange to have at least three letters of recommendation sent to: ICTI CMU-Portugal Program in Applied Mathematics, Department of Mathematical Sciences, Carnegie Mellon University, Pittsburgh, PA 15213.
