Graham's Mobile Wallet: 0.1.0.0 (Beta 1) Released
2009-02-05
A very simple Windows Mobile Pocket PC (Windows Mobile 6 Professional/Windows Mobile 6 Classic) application for managing your accounts and transactions.
Graham's Mobile Wallet was originally devised as a supplement to my Microsoft Money 2005 installation at home. Basically, I update my MS Money once a week. I often find that, come weekend, I haven't got the foggiest idea what I did during the week!!
With this product, I capture my spending as and when (e.g. Paying for dinner at a restuarant) onto my Windows Mobile device. When I get to my MS Money, I just look at what I did on my phone during the week, and copy the stuff over into MS Money.
To get it, follow these steps:
1. Visit http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/mobilewallet/
2. Click Download on the top right of the page
3. Under Release, click the link Version 0.1.0.0 (Beta 1)
4. Under Filename, click the link Grahams_Mobile_Wallet-0.1.0.0-Beta1.CAB
Copy this file over to your device and execute it.
I would appreciate it if you would log any bugs and new feature requests in the trackers on the website. Go to http://www.sourceforge.net/projects/mobilewallet/, and click Tracker -> Bugs or Tracker -> New Feature Requests (menus on the top). Then click the link Add new artifact. There are a couple of advantages to logging your issues this way:
1. Everyone (Including anonymous users) has visibility on these trackers, so everyone can see what bugs are outstanding, or what’s potentially coming in terms of new features
2. I get an e-mail every time new artefacts are added to either of these trackers
3. If you log your artefact while you’re logged in (i.e. not anonymously), then you will receive an e-mail anytime I change something on an item you’ve logged (Change the status, add comments, etc)
Note: I have only tested this on Windows Mobile 6 Classic or Windows Mobile 6 Professional. I have specifically not tested it on Windows Mobile 6 Standard. I don’t know if it works on Windows Mobile 5, yet. What I do know is that if you even want to attempt it on Windows Mobile 5, you’d need to install the .NET Compact Framework 2.0. If you’d care to try, you can find that download at http://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?FamilyID=aea55f2f-07b5-4a8c-8a44-b4e1b196d5c0&DisplayLang=en
