The University of Minho Social Services (SASUM) is an administrative and financially autonomous Organic Unit. It is comprised of the Administrator, the Administrative Council and the Social Action Council. Their functioning is regulated by the Portuguese Legislation Decreto Lei 129/93 of the 22nd April of 1993.

The Social Services unit attends mainly, but not exclusively, to Accommodation, Food, Scholarships, Medical and Psychological Support, and Sport and Cultural Activities Support.

The unit employs student workers from inside the University itself. In this way, students receive financial benefits for their work, without it interfering with heir academic activities.

The SASUM’s head office is located at no. 30, Rua do Forno, in Braga. However, these services have other facilities in Guimarães, able to support the almost 5,000 students who attend the Azurém Campus.
