In the context of these Regulations, congenerous course is understood as a course which, even with a different designation, has the same scientific level and lectures an equivalent academic training.

21.2 The exclusion of the application is under the responsibility of the Rector.

22.3 The regularisation can happen by means of course placement, alteration of course placement, conferment of non-admission (não colocado), conferment of overrule (indeferido) and, thus, must be founded.
22.4 The alterations are notified to the candidate by a registered letter confirming the acknowledgement, with the respective justification.
22.5 The regularisation is applied only to the candidate in question, and does not have any effect on the other ones.
23. Curricular integration
23.1 The students must respect the studies programs and organization in effect in the University of Minho.
23.2 The curricular integration of those who have already been approved in disciplines of a higher education course, by possible means of the definition of special studies’ plan, is under the responsibility of the respective Course Council.
23.3 The granting of equivalence is applied to the rules in effect in the University of Minho.
23.4 The equivalence, for those who have already been approved in disciplines of a higher education course, are requested in the Secretary of University of Minho’s Academic Services, Gualtar Campus, or in the Secretary of Academic Services Group, in Azurém, by the means of a specific document provided with the certification of the approved disciplines and the respective program contents and time schedules properly authentified by the institution of origin, or their photocopies, as long as it is also presented, to validation effects, the original document or another one properly authentified.
In the case of students who come from Universities not integrated on the Portuguese public higher education, the process must incorporate the highest number of elements related to the institution in question. In the particular case of Undergraguate Degree Programmes integrated on the Course Council of Engineering, by deliberation of the referred Course Council, of the 2nd April of 1997, the processes of equivalence related to students who come from the institutions above mentioned must possess the discipline’s dossier. In case the University does not provide the dossier, the processes must mention, at least, the program, the recommended bibliography and the performed tests.
23.5 There is no guarantee that the equivalence of disciplines of a higher education course is granted in time, thus the admission is granted always in the 1st academic year, regardless of the disciplines previously performed. The regularisation of the enrolment will take place after the conclusion of the equivalence process. It is suggested to students under these circumstances that they contact the respective Director of Course, for recommendation regarding the disciplines to attend.
23.6 The granting of equivalence of homonymous disciplines of previous academic years is not a guarantee that those same equivalences will be granted in the academic year in question. In order to avoid false hopes, it is recommended that, in case the equivalences are considered critical for the enrolment in a year of the curricular plan, the students require, within 30 working days before the date fixed on the Annexe I for the application presentation, an equivalence plan. In this case, the students must pay the emoluments referred on the Annexe III. Nevertheless, the equivalence plan does not grant the admission authorization, nor grants priority. It merely helps the student to decide on the submission to the admission process.
