In 2012, Alexandre Perez received his M.S. degree in Computer Science and Engineering from University of Porto, in Portugal. He improved current data-driven software fault localization techniques by automatically adjusting the instrumentation granularity of software artifacts being debugged.

He is currently pursuing a Ph.D. degree at the Faculty of Engineering of University of Porto, where he applies data-driven and model-based diagnosis techniques to the software engineering domain. His work focuses mainly on improving automated software fault localization and program comprehension.

His research interests include software understanding, debugging and model-based reasoning.
